Norwegian Escape is the 3rd of 6 a Norwegian Cruise Line Breakaway /Breakaway Plus class ship weighing in at 164,600 tons. The Norwegian Escape has many amenities to offer cruise passengers. Lets start off with the 678 Ocean Place - the ship's main atrium. The hot spot of the ship, features shops, bars, music, the passenger relations desk and more. The area is ideal for a drink, listening to music and people watching. The Norwegian Escape has 10 bars and lounges for passengers enjoyment - including the headliners comedy club where passengers can take in an evening show, have a drink and laugh out loud.
The Norwegian Escape has a full casino where passengers can try their luck at the slots, craps or roulette. There is also the Waterfront - located on the side of the ship which has a bar, dining establishments tables and music where passengers can become one with the sea and enjoy a snack and drink in this open air venue.
The ship has extensive spa facilities including the standard spa services, gymnasium. Thermal suite treatments, The Spa Salt Room; Snow Room and more.
The Norwegian Escape offer a plethora of outdoor activities to keep everyone active and involved. The ship features an extensive water park for adults and young adults including various water slides and pools. There is also a kids Aqua Park featuring many water attractions all with a Sponge Bob theme, There is an extensive ropes course high above the ship's sun deck for competitive passengers to show their agility, strength and balance - including the "Walk the Plank" a wooden plank which extends over the side of the ship - some 13 stories above the sea (0f course participants are harnessed in to make sure then don't fall). Below the ropes course is the the sports complex with mini-golf, ping-pong, basketball and more.
Toward the stern of the ship is the Spice H2O area with a bar, large screen TV and open deck space ideal for viewing movies or music videos. At night, the area is transformed into a disco/dance club for under the stars dancing and entertainment.
The Norwegian Escape boasts 27 dining venues offering guests a wide variety of dining experiences. Meals are included in the cruise fare for the Norwegian Escape's 3 main dining rooms, as well as O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar & Grill; the Garden Cafe (Buffet); Savor Restaurant; Taste Restaurant; and the Haven Restaurant (available to Haven guests only). Room service is available but a delivery surcharge may apply.
The Specialty Restaurants offer meals with an international flare. These restaurants are available at an additional surcharge. These Specialty Restaurants include: Teppanyaki - Japanese food prepared right at your table; Bayamo by Ocean Blue - for finely prepared seafood; Food Republic - Fun food from various countries; Moderno Churrascaria - Brazilian meats and extensive salad bar - 12 varieties of meat on skewers served right at your table; The Atrium Cafe; Cagney's Steakhouse - Premium cuts are the standard at our American steakhouse; Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Sea - Take a bite out of paradise with signature items like Cheeseburger in Paradise; La Cucina Italian Restaurant; Le Bistro French Restaurant; and Pincho Tapas Bar.
The Norwegian Escape is a very kid friendly ship, with an extensive kids program. The ships kids program is held in separate spaces and the children / young adults are divided into 4 age groups with age appropriate activities. The little ones may dress-up like pirates and take part in the ship's parade, while older kids may take part in a ship wide scavenger hunt. Activities are available for a good chunk of the day and into the evening hours. In addition to the organized children's program, there are many sports oriented activities and other family related activities to keep everyone busy outside of the kids program. There is a video arcade (available for a fee) where kids can fine tune their gaming skills. Mini-golf, ping-pong, basketball and more.
The Norwegian Escape's signature hull artwork is designed by marine wildlife artist and champion of ocean conservation, Guy Harvey. The ship's hull features an underwater scene of marine wildlife. The Norwegian Escape is Harvey's largest canvas to date, at 1065 feet in length, his artwork spans the entire hull. The art work portrays two undersea scenes that blend seamlessly.
Norwegian Escape has the all types of staterooms to offer passengers including solo, inside, outside, balcony; multi-room suites with balconies and the multi-bedroom exclusive ship within a ship concept - "The Haven". All staterooms are well appointed, neat and clean with sufficient space for up to 2 weeks travel. In most staterooms, the beds can be configured as a queen or 2 twins. Each stateroom has a small sitting area, dressers, desk and under bed storage as well.
Accommodations include the company's signature luxury ship–within-a-ship complex: The Haven by Norwegian; along with Studios, designed and priced for solo travelers; and many options for families, multi-generational groups; spa enthusiasts and more.
The bathrooms are like those found on most other cruise ships - compact in size and have a sink storage, shower and toilet. There is usually shelves and/or a small cabinet for toiletries storage.
The differences between most staterooms is the square footage, location and the connection with the outside. Larger rooms are more expensive. Staterooms with aft or bow views demand a premium.
Suites and the Haven - cost more than balconies, which cost more than outside staterooms, which cost more than inside staterooms. Solo cabins are also sold at a premium - but not as much as
other cruise lines charge.
It is all up to your preference and budget.
In 2019, the Norwegian Escape sailed extensively from New York to Florida and the Bahamas; New England and Canada; or Bermuda. Norwegian Cruise Line decided to replace the Norwegian Escape with the Norwegian Bliss starting in November 2019 through April 2020. In April 2020, the new Norwegian Encore will sail from from New York to New England and Canada, Florida and the Bahamas; the Caribbean; and Bermuda.
In her new deployment, the Norwegian Escape sails round-trip from Miami on 7 day Western Caribbean cruises January through May 2020.
In April 2020, the Norwegian Escape will reposition to New York for only 3 departures. On April 7, 2020, the Norwegian Escape will sail from New York to Bermuda on a 4 day cruise. On April 11, 2020, she will sail on a 7 Day Bermuda Cruise, followed by a 15 Day transatlantic cruise departing New York on April 18, 2020. The 15 Day transatlantic cruise will visit exciting countries such as the Azores, Portugal, 3 ports in Spain, France and Rome (Civitavecchia) Italy where the cruise ends.
The Norwegian Escape will sail from Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy to Copenhagen, Denmark and sail throughout Northern Europe until late October 2020. On October 26, 2020, the Norwegian Escape will sail on a 15-day transatlantic cruise ending in Cape Canaveral, Florida on November 9, 2020. Once in Cape Canaveral, the Norwegian Escape will sail on 7-day cruises to the Eastern or Western Caribbean (depending on the week), through the end of the year.
