NOORDAM

The ms Noordam, launched in February 2006, is the newest addition to Holland America Line's world renowned fleet of premium cruise ships. As the line's fourth Vista-class ship, and joining her sister ships ms Westerdam, ms Oosterdam, and ms Zuiderdam, ms Noordam continues our proud tradition of delivering the ultimate onboard experience for your cruise vacation. Combining all the new advances of today's shipbuilding industry with the Tradition of Excellence for which Holland America Line is known, ms Noordam has the complete complement of Holland America Line Signature of Excellence™ enhancements to provide state-of-the-art facilities and public areas, and unparalleled services and amenities.

ms Noordam continues the Holland America Line tradition of elegant ships designed for comfort and ease. Public rooms are be located on two decks, dining rooms are located aft with expansive views of the sea, and our signature Crow's Nest Lounge and Observation Deck are forward with an unrivalled view of the surrounding scenery. There is plenty of deck space for sunning and enjoying the sea-going experience and a classic promenade deck for strolling which encircles the ship. The ambience of the ms Noordam provides a comfortable backdrop for enjoying the extensive selection of activities on a Holland America Line cruise vacation, including the new Explorations Café, powered by The New York Times, our new state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Center, our exclusive Explorations Speaker Series, the magnificent Greenhouse Spa and Salon, expanded Club HAL® and youth facilities and programs for kids ages 3 to 17 and of course 24/7 email and Internet access. In addition, the ship has the traditional features found aboard modern cruise ships (see below). The ship will feature a glass roof over the pool area which will allow passengers to swim even if the temperature outside is less than ideal.

For dining option, Holland America offers a number of set time seatings for you to choose. Whichever seating you choose(or are assigned) will be your seating  for the entire cruise. If you want a more casual option, there is the also less formal dining experiences available. Holland America also has an extensive children's program and many activities to keep them well entertained, but Holland America traditionally attracts the more seasoned cruiser therefore there will be a mix of all age groups on-board. Holland America has good entertainment usually consisting of Broadway Reviews, live bands and/or a comedian for your pleasure. The Noordam will arrive from her builders packed with Holland America Signature Amenities which Holland America has been rolling out fleet wide. These special amenities include  Euro-top mattresses, Flat panel TVs, DVD players in all cabins, new dining options and the Greenhouse Spa and Salon . Overall Holland America offers a very strong experience. Although some of the initial sailings of the Noordam may have some teething problems as the crew (usually comprising of members taken from other Holland America ships and new crew members) learn the ins-and-outs of working together, it is expected that the MS Noordam - like her sister ships, will become very popular among travelers from New York and a good value in the Premium Category!
