I had the pleasure of touring the Carnival Glory during a recent visit
to the port of New York. I was very surprised and impressed with the
Carnival Glory from the moment I boarded the ship. She was different
from the other Carnival ships. Her color schemes were more sophisticated
- gone were the zebra patterns, neon lights and clashing colors.
The Carnival Glory is a large ship measuring 952 feet long and
116 feet wide. She carries 2974 passengers (Double Occupancy) and has a
crew of 1,150.
The Carnival Glory has something for everyone. Here is my detailed
report.

STATEROOMS -
Suite Stateroom onboard Carnival Cruise
Line's Carnival Glory - Copyright Carnival Cruise Line

|
- The Carnival Glory has the standard cabin types found aboard most
ships. Inside, outside, Veranda, mini suites and full suites. I found
the staterooms to be spacious and cheerfully decorated in whites,
beiges and other neutral tones. The staterooms have sufficient
storage. The bathrooms are compact but functional. There is sufficient
shelf space in the bathroom. Veranda cabins have a decent size balcony
large enough for two upright chairs and a small coffee table.
- Below are some examples of the types of staterooms:

CONCLUSION -
Carnival Glory - Carnival Cruise Line -
Copyright Carnival Cruises

|
- Carnival Cruise Line has done an excellent job of de-Farcusizing
the Carnival Glory. (Farus is the designer for Carnival Cruise
Lines with some very loud combination of fabrics and color - giving
the ships somewhat tacky feel). Carnival has been slowly replacing
some of the earlier furnishing and color schemes with more elegant and
upscale furnishings. This is very apparent onboard the Carnival Glory
which has a more sophisticated feel.
|
- The Crew is very friendly and welcoming. They are always willing
to help.
|
- I found the food and the selection of food to be very good. There
was a very wide selection of food and everything I tasted was good.
|
- Accommodations onboard the Carnival Glory are very pleasant. Size
wise they are on par with other cruise ships, but the light and airy
color schemes do make the cabins seem larger. There is adequate
storage and the bathrooms are adequate but compact. Veranda cabins
have sufficient outdoor space.
|
- Entertainment wise Carnival Cruise Line is working fleet wide to
add a comedy club, additional dining venues and other cruise enhancing
activities. Normal entertainment on carnival includes a Broadway style
reviews, dancers, singers, comedians, acrobats and magicians.
|
- Carnival Cruise Line ships tend to be high density ships,
therefore there are some times during your cruise where you may
encounter lines and or pushy crowds.
|
- Carnival Cruise is a good value for the money and the Kids program
is great - offering something for kids of every age.
|
- Overall I was impressed with the Carnival Glory and would consider
sailing aboard her.
