Dominica is known as the Nature Island and the most mountainous island in the Caribbean. See Morne Diablotin, the highest mountain in the Eastern Caribbean, some 4,747 feet high. On this island of approximately 290 square miles, you can find unspoiled, tropical rain forests, 365 rivers, therapeutic mud pools, volcanic mountains, beautiful waterfalls, sulfur springs (including the Boiling Lake) . For a different perspective of on the lush greenery of the Island from the top, a ride on Dominica's new Rainforest Aerial Tram provides a breathtaking scenic view. This 4,600 foot tram takes visitors on a spectacular 70-minute journey over the treetops of the Island's magnificent rainforest. The island boasts of being the home to many forms of animal life. There are over 160 species of birds and the island is known as the whale watching capital of the Caribbean. The seas surrounding Dominica are also ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling in these pristine waters.

At a population of about 21,000, Dominica is quaint. The capital city Roseau is a quiet city/town with shops, markets and cafes. The official language of the island is English but it is not unusual for many islanders to speak the traditional French based Creole Patois.

Dominica is a nature lover's paradise which has remain unspoiled over the decades.
