February 5, 2009 – New York is preparing for the premier area travel show of the year - The New York Times Travel Show.

With some of the 500+ exhibitors including well known names as Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Royal Caribbean, numerous worldwide tourism companies and specialized tour operators, the show has something for everyone.

I have attended the show 3 out of the last 4 years and always discovered a new, unique travel experience. You can actually book your vacation on the spot with many tour operators and cruise lines directly connected to their booking engines.

Plan on spending the day. Some of the many activities include cultural shows, ethnic foods and many free giveaways.

Show hours, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, are:
