(March
27, 2008 – Featuring 10 unforgettable ports and an
overnight stay in
Quebec City, Celebrity Cruises’ 2009 Canada/New
England sailings are a must for cruise enthusiasts who
swoon at the sight of autumn foliage. The cruises open
for booking today.
Although just three
sailings comprise Celebrity’s 2009 Canada/New England
season, each itinerary offers spectacular views and
Celebrity’s signature service with style. The first
sailing is a 14-night cruise on September 19, followed
by a 13-night voyage on October 3, and a 14-night
cruise on October 16, all on Celebrity
Constellation, round-trip out of Cape Liberty
(Bayonne), New Jersey.
All three sailings
feature an overnight stay in one of Celebrity’s past
guests’ favorite ports, Quebec City, Quebec. Known for
its French heritage, cobbled alleyways, and the scenic
St. Charles and St. Lawrence rivers,
Quebec City offers Celebrity’s guests a host of
shore excursions that range from a romantic
horse-drawn carriage ride with dinner in the old
quarter to a bicycling tour to the cascading
Montmorency Falls. Each sailing also includes a
full-day visit to
Sydney, Nova Scotia, where guests can embrace
the local culture through shore excursions such as
“The Heart of the Island,” which takes guests to
picturesque Cape Breton Island, highly rated by
National Geographic Traveler. The excursion
weaves through rugged countryside to the Nova Scotia
Highland Village, a 50-acre historical site
overlooking the “Great Inland Sea,” or Bras d’Or Lakes
region.
The three voyages also
feature calls on
Newport, Rhode Island, and
Boston, Massachusetts, which Celebrity
Constellation hasn’t visited since 2007, as well
as
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and
Portland, Maine, where Celebrity offers a shore
excursion showcasing the beauty of White Mountain
National Forest and the world's first
mountain-climbing cog railway. Other ports in
Celebrity’s 2009 Canada/New England season include
Bar Harbor, Maine;
Halifax, Nova Scotia; and
Saint John, New Brunswick.
