MSC Cruises has announced that the MSC Orchestra will be making a 2 day call in New York on May 5th and 6th. This is the first time an MSC ship will be calling at New York.

The stop is part of a 18 day cruise departing Fort Lauderdale on May 2, 2009 calling at New York, Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, Virgo, La Coruna, Dover and Copenhagen, Denmark - where the cruise ends.

Although this is a one time call in New York MSC Cruses has expressed an interest in sailing regular cruises from New York and has plans to homeport a ship in the Northeast in 2010.
