FREE “INTREPID SAILS” PROGRAMMING FOR NYC PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Intrepid Museum’s education department is flourishing during the Museum’s temporary closure. For the past year, we have been bringing traveling educational programs to New York City schools under the banner of “Intrepid Sails.”

This year, thanks to a generous grant from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, funds are available to qualified New York City public schools to receive financial support for Intrepid programming.

A wide variety of programming is available for, and tailored to children in kindergarten through 12th grade. The programs correlate to the New York State Learning Standards for both students and teachers in the areas of social studies; mathematics, science and technology; English language arts; and the arts.

Programs are underway, and will continue through the 2007/2008 school year . For more information, please visit www.intrepidsails.org . To book these free educational programs, please contact the Group Sales office at (212) 957-3701 or groupsales@intrepidmuseum.org .Availability is limited – please book immediately!
