Hurricane Hermine Disrupts Cruise Schedule From New York.

Hurricane Hermine - Norwegian Breakaway - Norwegian Gem - Carnival Sunshine - Celebrity Summit

The Celebrity Summit departed New York at 2:00 PM on Sunday for New England / Canada - 2 hours ahead of schedule.


Holland America's Zuiderdam, skipped a call at Halifax, Nova Scotia and headed from St, John New Brunswick Canada to get to New York A head of the storm.


The Norwegian Breakaway left as scheduled below but instead of heading out toward the sea, sailed around the storm and  hugged the New Jersey coast until off Maryland and then headed southeast toward Bermuda.


The Anthem of the Seas followed the same route as the Norwegian Breakaway - but just in reverse to arrive in New York this morning from Bermuda.


Both the Anthem of the Seas and Queen Mary 2 left New York as schedule today 9/9/2016. The Anthem of the Seas was sailing to New England / Canada and the QM2 to Halifax and then Southampton, England.



Hurricane Hermine has caused several cruise lines to alter their schedules.

On Saturday, 9/3/2016, both the Norwegian Gem and Carnival Sunshine left New York as planed both hugging the coast of Long Island as they headed to New England / Canada.


The Norwegian Breakaway and Celebrity Summit both arrived in New York on Saturday at around 10:00 PM instead of their scheduled Sunday morning arrivals.


In an announcement on thier website, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that the Norwegian Breakaway would depart at 1:30 PM on Sunday opposed to her normal 4 PM departure time. The Norwegian Breakaway is scheduled to sail on a 7-Day Bermuda Cruise.


Celebrity Cruises has not announced any changes to the departure time for the Celebrity Summit at this time for Sunday afternoon.
