As Hurricane Gonzalo hits Bermuda, the Bermuda Government has requested that all cruise ship arrivals be temporarily suspended.
As a result of this request Oceania Cruises was forced to modify the itinerary of their Insignia. The Insignia, because of her modest size, is one of the rare ships capable of docking directly in Hamilton, Bermuda.
The Insignia was scheduled to depart New York on Friday 10/17 but instead offered passengers and overnight stay in New York, departing at 5:00 PM on Saturday 10/18.
In addition to the overnight stay in New York, a call in St. Maarten was added.
The Insignia was sailing on a 15 Night repositioning cruise that originally planned call in Hamilton, Bermuda; St. Barts; St. Lucia; Grenada; Isle Margarita, Venezuela; Aruba, Santa Marta, Columbia; Key West, Fl, Miami, Fl (where the cruise ends)
